Welcome to LGBT North East - an employment, engagement and community forum for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGB & T) people.

The forum creates a unique opportunity to bring together LGB and Trans people in a region-wide discussion on local LGBT issues; providing mutual support and helping to improve our communities, our workplaces and the services we receive.

So whether you want to share your experiences of the workplace as an LGB or Trans employee; comment on what’s happening within your local community or group; talk about an upcoming LGBT event or the latest LGBT themed literature or theatre then this forum is for you!

And it doesn’t end with individuals – the network provides scope for employers across the region to establish a virtual diversity excellence group; to share ideas around equality and diversity policies and learning and to work collectively in finding solutions to difficulties they may experience, such as in monitoring the sexual orientation of staff or service users.

Additionally, the network creates tremendous capacity for service providers to ask LGB and Trans people for their ideas in improving services.

Therefore we welcome contributions from LGB & Trans people, regional employers, community organisations and service providers.
